MBTI INFJ INFP. You might have heard these terms and abbreviations in the internet. What are these? Why they are initials? Why people are referring them to me? What in the earth they mean? These questions also gripped me and I thought I won’t dig deep into it. But my curiosity overtook my boredom and drew me towards this psych analysis test.
MBTI is an abbreviation for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It is used to analyse your psychology and categorise you in these 16 results like INFJ INFP etc etc. There are the 16 personalities according to these test. Myers-Briggs type indicator was developed in the 1940s by two Americans Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Meyers. The mother daughter duo took inspiration from the book Psychological Types a book by Carl Jung published in 1920s.
In this MBTI test you are presented with a series of question and after that test you are categorised in these 16 personalities.

Most of the scientists and researchers don’t consider MBTI as a valid and accurate test. They say you get different results after a week or so. Many criticise the theory behind it and the rigid dichotomy that tends to oversimplify human behaviour. Some of the scholars say you cannot categorise billions of people in this unreliable examination.
So people usually take these tests to categorise and understand themselves. The vast majority of people still use this MBTI to keep a check on their personality. People generally take this test to describe themselves better and it is said that more than a million people take this test annually. Look personally I would not prefer this test but if you want to take a jig at it search for MBTI test. But remember it is just for fun and you are not defined with this test.
