Not necessarily our names will have a huge meaning. But the work we do, the things we say, the wealth we earn will pass on to people. A criminal or a rebel also has his legacy. There are unimaginable kinds of legacies, the ones which haven’t been discovered yet waiting to be discovered.
Legacy is what people pass on. A knowledge, a property, a skill, a research it can be whatever a person has acquired his whole life. Well, life is also a legacy. If we think deeply everything around us is a legacy of a person who lived before us. It has been going on like this since the beginning of human life.
Be it good or bad people’s legacy has always been around us. A criminal also has a legacy, a rebel also has a legacy that said a leader also has a legacy. We are all carrying a legacy within us that we will pass on to the future generation. Our environment is what we’ll be giving to our children.
Human society today is a legacy of democracy, autocracy, dictatorship of communism. Even countries have a legacy. Science is also a legacy, economy is also a legacy. We get legacies even if we don’t ask for it. Like Jesus gave us Christianity that is his legacy.
Genetics also, the way we will live, the genes we will make. Even you my friend have a legacy. We have been carrying legacy and will pass it onto someone else. Not necessarily our names will have a huge meaning. But the work we do the things we say is being passed on to people.
Sincerely, the things we do does not matter much to other people because the people are only interested in themselves. But it should matter to us ‘what legacy are we leaving behind?’
