How to spend your time alone?

Loneliness is not a choice. Some of us like to think we are better off alone. This means we don’t fear loneliness we embrace it. But still a lonely mind is hard to tame because as usually happens the lonely mind wants to tame us.

This is because the lonely mind is vulnerable. It can be easily be effected by negativity which can further create mental problems.

Let the fact be fact and fiction be fiction. Spending time alone can be fruitful. You will ask how? Well spending time alone can calm you and prepare you for your future plans.

First we should talk about what not to do.

Don’t spend time on social media apps. Social media apps are supposed to connect you with the world. So it should be off the list because you want to spend time alone. You mustn’t be dragged down to get influenced by what Mr Perfect or Miss Pageant are doing or what Mr Psycho or Miss Silly are thinking.

Don’t get disorganised. Organisation is a part of a life and what are you, yes a life. So try not to get disorganised.

Don’t mingle with negative people. Yes negative and toxic people are the your worst enemy. Nevertheless you should know that it is a fact that you can’t avoid negative people. Rather you can suppress them like a bad odour, for a few precious times. (Some of us would want to know how to identify negative people. It’s super easy, the person that you don’t like is negative to you.)

Don’t cut off from the world. Some of us might think, well thats the whole point of spending time alone. Well you don’t connect from your side but let the world connect with you. It’s simple let people reach out to you. Not through social media but by telephones and don’t pick up the phones of person that you don’t like.

Don’t limit yourself to good or bad. By this I mean to keep an open mind and accepting the way things are. Don’t judge anybody not even yourself. Be like water for the moment you want to spend time alone.

The most important thing we should keep in our mind is that we aren’t going to spend time alone for a long time.

How to spend time alone?

Read a book. Reading a is book is very boring compared to watching a video or scrolling through the social application. But reading a book requires focus and energy. When we read a book we visualise the words which can poke the sleepy part of our consciousness. The various nerves in our brain become active and a habit of thinking positively excels.

Exercise. The best way to be fit physically and mentally is to exercise. Hit the gym or go for a run. It boosts confidence and pumps up endorphins the brain’s feel good hormones. This hormone are produced to help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve mood. That is why after a session of training our mood is super improved.

Travel. The best part of travelling is that you get time to think upon yourself. When you are watching the endless buildings and trees your mind starts to wonder. The trick is to keep your mind in awe of the environment this can positively affect your mindset.

Take a morning stroll. The best way to keep a healthy mind is to walk in the morning when the world is beginning to start its day. Seeing the morning sun and feeling morning dew on your bare feet can rid your mind of any negative thoughts and energies.

Work on finding out what distracts you. If you want to have minimum problems in life, you will have to find and eliminate unwanted distractions. Like for example, if too much worrying is affecting your work and social relation. Try to read religious quotes and put your mind at ease. For example Proverbs 3: 5-6 quotes, put your trust in god and he will find an easy path for you.

Meditate. The best way to spend time alone and isolated is to meditate. Meditation can bring an extreme amount of peace in your life. You can learn to let go of things easily and also find importance of your existence.

It always helps you to be strong in difficult times and let go of unwanted thoughts.
